Bathroom and Wet Room Reseal in Bristol

The Brief

A Bristol homeowner had a bathroom where the sealant had seen better days. The white silicone around the bath, basin and tiling had discoloured, started to peel along the edges, and picked up black mould that no amount of cleaning would shift. They wanted it stripped out and replaced with a clean, watertight finish that would keep the damp out and tidy the whole room up.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Removed the old sealant: Carefully stripped out all the failed and discoloured silicone around the bath, basin and tiled areas, without damaging the surfaces.
• Cleaned and prepared the joints: Cleaned out any trapped mould and residue and made sure every joint was clean and fully dry before resealing, which is the step that makes a reseal last.
• Applied mould-resistant silicone: Ran fresh, mould-resistant sanitary silicone around the bath, basin and tiling, tooled to a neat, consistent bead.
• Colour matched the finish: Matched the sealant to the existing fittings so the new beads blend in cleanly rather than standing out.
• Left it tidy: Cleaned up fully and left the bathroom ready to use once the sealant had cured.

The Result

A clean, watertight bathroom with crisp, consistent sealant lines and no more mould or peeling. The room instantly looked fresher, and the new mould-resistant silicone, applied to properly prepared joints, is set to stay looking good for years rather than going black within months.
